Student Registration, Advising, and Career Development

Our Virtual Advising Office is open via Zoom from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We provide one-on-one advising and career development support through the use of breakout rooms for any students looking for guidance or direction. Questions regarding resumes, cover letters, interview preparation, and course advising/registration can be addressed during these sessions.

Need Support for You or Your Family?

Fill out the STARS Assistance Request form. The Student Care Network uses resources to put together supports for you or your family. We can address everything from academic support needs to social/emotional and physical health needs as well.

Student Loan Repayment Restart

On April 6, 2022, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) extended the student loan payment pause through Aug. 31, 2022.

The pause includes the following relief measures for eligible loans:

  • a suspension of loan payments
  • a 0% interest rate
  • stopped collections on defaulted loans

Wellness Center Resources

While health services and counseling services are not available until the beginning of August, students can contact the Wellness Center at (708) 524-6229 or email wellness@dom.edu with questions or for referrals. 

Students can verify and upload any missing immunization records at Wellness Online. Immunizations given in Illinois may already be included in your immunization record through the state registry. Out-of-state students must upload their immunizations. New students will need to wait until after they have registered for SOAR to access Wellness Online.

Please call to schedule an appointment so we can ask a few questions about your symptoms and schedule time for you. You can complete your intake forms on the student portal, Wellness Online before coming in. We require masks at the Wellness Center.

Tutoring and Academic Support

Use our Academic Support Center virtually or in person. Sign up for tutoring and access the subject-area tutors.

Housing Application

Students interested in living on campus must complete the housing application and update their emergency contact information.

Career Resources

The Office of Career Programs & Employer Relations is here to help all Dominican University students and alumnae/i navigate their internship and job search. Whether you need guidance on your resume or you would like to brush up on interviewing strategies, one-on-one sessions can be scheduled in-person or via Zoom with our Executives and Experts in Residence (EiRs). The EiRs are industry leaders that provide tailored career mentoring to your path. We also connect the Dominican community with our employer partners through multiple recruiting events, which occur both in-person and virtually throughout the academic year.
