The music major with a concentration in performance offers intensive study in guitar, percussion, piano or voice. In addition to the standard music curriculum, you’ll engage in focused performance study through private instruction, ensemble participation, annual juries, biannual performances and a senior recital or project.

The concentration in performance provides excellent preparation for a career as a performing musician and for graduate study.

Audition Requirements

Students who want to be music majors with a performance concentration will be asked to audition before admission to the music program. Students would have to be at or beyond the intermediate level at their instrument prior to the audition. Please contact the Director of the Music Discipline with questions regarding the audition requirements.
