In alignment with Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order, Dominican University requires students, faculty and staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 . This applies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels to anyone who intends to be on campus for any period of time.

New and incoming students should be fully vaccinated and report their vaccination status by the start of classes (August 1 for Fall 2022 semester). Students should upload their vaccine cards to the Wellness Center Online Portal. Please note that resident students must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination prior to their move-in date. You are considered fully vaccinated two weeks following either the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the second dose of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.

Students in 100% online programs who do not plan to come to campus are exempt from this requirement, except when it is required by an outside agency for internship purposes, but are still highly encouraged to get the vaccine. If you intend to come to campus for any reason (use the library, attend student event, etc.) you will need to test within 72 hours of coming to campus, upload a negative result to the COVID tracker and get approval from Student Success & Engagement by emailing sse@dom.edu

We understand that some members of our community may not be able to take the vaccine, including for medical and religious reasons, and exemptions on those grounds will be considered. Please note that students receiving a vaccination exception will be required to participate in weekly, PCR COVID-19 surveillance testing while they are on campus. To request an exemption, or for more information, please email wellness@dom.edu.

Vaccines have proven safe and effective, and are a critical tool in stopping the COVID-19 pandemic. Requiring vaccination is the best means of ensuring the safety and well-being of our campus community while maintaining the face-to-face learning experience.
