Summer Gifted at Dominican University is hosting a reduced and modified summer program for its 35th year of operation this Summer 2022!

The Summer Gifted and Talented Program is thrilled to announce its return to the University's main campus this year, following all campus Covid-19 protocols and policies. Please save the date for our official weeks this summer! We can't wait to see you and the celebrate our 35th year at Dominican University together.

PLEASE NOTE: Week 1 is a four-day instructional week only, reflecting the university's observance of Juneteenth beginning this year. The entire main campus will be closed on June 20 and SGAT programming will not be offered or available. Some classes may have pre-assignments or readings for student completion on June 20. Please make any necessary arrangements to acknowledge there will be no in-person classes held on June 20, 2022.

Each course is one-week long, Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. with the exception of Week 1 (Tuesday-Friday). You may apply to any combination of weeks. Food service and early/extended day programming are not provided during our modified-for-covid programming in 2022. Students are expected to bring a non-perishable lunch, drink and snack each day.

Tuition
  • Tuition is $350 per course per week; Week 1 Tuition is $280 (collected at acceptance only)
  • Tuition for all four weeks is $1,150 total (apply early before popular courses are filled at capacity!)
  • Dominican University employees receive a 10% discount off tuition (discount is applied upon enrollment)
  • Application Deadline is Wednesday, June 1, 2022
  • Late application fee is $50 for rolling admission to available courses after June 1
  • Financial Aid Application will be released by April 2022 and the submission deadline is Monday, May 9, 2022
  • Faxed or emailed application forms are not accepted
Refund Policy
  • All refunds must be requested in writing no later than one week prior to course start
  • Refund fee of $50 applies for cancellations and withdrawals
  • No refunds granted for partial participation or absences
Admission Criteria: Three Ways to Apply

Test Score Student. Students with nationally-normed standardized test scores in the 95%ile or above in the subject area to which they are applying are pre-qualified for admission, pending course availability. Must include copy of official score report and optional student statement of interest (Why do you wish to attend this course/program?) for full consideration.

Admission Portfolio Student. Students without nationally-normed standardized test scores in the 95%ile or above may apply by admission portfolio. Must include the most current report cards, along with an optional student statement of interest (Why do you wish to attend this course/program?) for full consideration. May include student portfolio of sample work relevant to the course(s) of interest or brief written teacher recommendation speaking to student readiness for accelerated learning.

Returning Student. Students who have successfully completed a Summer Gifted at Dominican course in Summer 2019 or Summer 2021 must include test scores or admission portfolios that are no older than four years old (2017–2018 and after) and a student statement of interest (Why do you wish to attend this course/program?) for full consideration.
